Plague Inc. now proposes not to destroy, but to save humanity

The famous game Plague Inc., dedicated to the extermination of humanity with the help of deadly diseases, has received a historical update. Now it has the Plague Inc: The Cure mode, in which you must take the side of good and protect humanity from a dangerous pandemic. In doing so, the game tries to simulate the multi-pronged approach that is really needed to defeat the epidemic in real life. The developers at Ndemic say they consulted with real epidemiologists when creating it.

The original game was released in 2012, but experienced a real boom in self-interest in March this year, when news of the COVID-19 outbreak spread around the world. The new The Cure mode proposes to deploy a multi-stage plan to combat the epidemic, which will require studying the disease itself, tracing the contacts of the infected and developing a vaccine. Ndemic emphasize that their game cannot be used as an accurate scientific model, but the basic methods of fighting a serious infection are duly reflected in it.

In March, Ndemic announced that it would donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the game to the World Health Organization and March to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) in the fight against COVID-19. In response, both of these organizations invited the developers to advise them during the development of the new The Cure mode. Now that its creation has been completed, Ndemic said it will be free for all players "until COVID-19 is brought under control." The updated game is already available on iOS and Android and will soon be available on PC and consoles.
