Otterbox develops antimicrobial film for smartphone screens

Otterbox (USA), specializing in the production of protective cases for mobile devices, has developed an antibacterial pad for the Amplify Glass smartphone.

Research results unequivocally indicate that any gadgets and especially mobile smartphones are a real breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Otterbox has partnered with Corning to develop an EPA registered antimicrobial technology, Amplify Glass.

As explained by CEO Jim Parks, “Amplify Glass now uses patented antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of several common bacterial strains, including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The coating protects the tread surface and prevents bacteria from growing on it. "

In addition, Amplify Glass is five times more scratch resistant than standard soda-lime glass. Plus, it's compatible with other Otterbox cases and the latest generation of iPhones.
