SOM is building one of the most unusual skyscrapers in China

Renowned American architecture firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) recently unveiled a design for a new skyscraper that will be completed in Hangzhou, China by 2021. The height of the 54-storey building will be 288 meters, the useful area is 125, 000 sq. meters.

It will house offices, retail space, and at a height of 206 meters there will be a comfortable hotel with a magnificent view of the city. The shape of the facade of the building, covered with glass panels, looks especially unusual and attractive.

In this way, as conceived by the architects, they embody not only their aesthetic concepts, but also solve the problems associated with limited space and withstanding strong winds.

Not only the residents of Hangzhou, but also the participants of the Asian Games, which will be held here in 2022, will be able to appreciate the unique skyscraper.
