French firm Reveho is launching a Kickstarter crowdfunding project to produce the Slite foldable travel electric guitar. The novelty, which is assembled with the dimensions of a normal full-fledged guitar, when disassembled, will be packed in a case measuring only 45x28x10 cm.
Designed by Alexander Albisser, the instrument consists of five components - an aluminum and wood core, a plastic upper and lower body, and two maple neck pieces. All elements fit together smoothly - assembly takes about 20 seconds. The connectors embedded in the connections ensure that analog and digital guitar signals are reliably transferred between different components, once the instrument is assembled, Albisser says.
The Slite has a standard 25.5-inch scale and a 24-fret maple neck that is joined by steel rods. The instrument can be equipped with a built-in preamp, effects and speakers. The battery should last for 6 hours of play; there is a standard Jack-type connector to output the signal to the amplifier.
Prices start at € 1, 549 for the base model plus a laptop-sized travel case, and € 1, 819 for the amplifier and case.
