X-COP 9700s hybrid from Neoline: what are the advantages of premium radar detectors?

Neoline has released an improved version of its top-end hybrid device X-COP 9700 - the S. Neoline X-COP 9700s model organically combines a video recorder and a powerful radar detector. It has won the prestigious international Red Dot Award for its sophisticated design.

Key Features

Let's see what Neoline X-COP 9700s can offer to potential owners. Key features of the new hybrid: the gadget database stores data on radars and cameras from 45 countries (including, first of all, Russia, the European Union, and the nearest CIS republics). It includes all types of radars used on the territory of the Russian Federation - such as "Robot", "Cordon", "Chris", "Krechet", "Avtodoria" and many others. At the same time, the detector has an additional module for detecting Strelka-ST and Strelka-M (24, 150 GHz) radars, which is mandatory for Russia, which allows them to be detected at a distance of up to 2 km. The GPS database is constantly updated and updated with new points (all updates are available through the neoline.ru website). Each new police radar is quickly added to the database and is available in new firmware, which is released regularly.

Neoline X-COP 9700s confidently detects radar radiation within a radius of up to 1500 meters (radiation from stationary complexes is detected from a distance of up to 2500 meters). All information about the ahead radar (as well as brief data about the next radar behind it) is displayed on the touchscreen IPS-display. The driver receives all the most important information at any time:

  • Schematic representation of a radar type;
  • Permitted speed on this section of the road;
  • Current vehicle speed;
  • Distance to GPS point;
  • Current time;
  • False and Dangerous Zones.

All hybrid control is carried out via the EASY TOUCH PLUS touchscreen interface. Thanks to the wide screen diagonal (2, 8 inches), it is very convenient to use. All menu items are large enough, and the navigation logic of the menu itself is well thought out.

The hybrid is powered by the Ambarella A7LA50 processor, which can process video at 30 frames per second. High-quality video recording is provided by a lens of 6 lenses and a 2-megapixel high-quality Sony Exmor IMX 322 matrix. All data is saved on a Micro SD-card up to 128 GB (a 32 GB card is already included with the hybrid). The recorder provides emergency recording 10 seconds before the event and 50 seconds after.

Features of the

To understand all the advantages of Neoline X-COP 9700s, let's compare it with the previous top model of the company - Neoline X-COP 9700. Among the most important changes: the hybrid received GLONASS support (the 9700 could only use GPS), a Z-signature filter, night recording mode, there were features for lane control (LDWS), video zoom, and voice alerts. In addition, the new recorder received an improved display on the IPS matrix (instead of TFT) and an expanded configuration, which makes it more convenient to work with it. And now about all this in order.

The Z-signature filter is a proprietary development of the Neoline company. It is designed to combat false alarms of the detector from blind spot sensors (DSZ) and adaptive cruise control of other vehicles. It is capable of detecting signals from systems such as "Blind Spot Monitoring", "Side Assist" and "Blind Spot Detection". Thanks to the filter, the device automatically recognizes such signals and does not notify the driver about them. At the same time, real police radars are not blocked.

The X-COP 9700s allows you to adjust the Z-signature filter based on the current speed using two filter modes that differ in sensitivity. Practical tests of the hybrid have shown: it catches DSZ signals in the two most sensitive modes of its operation (Turbo and Route), and ignores it in the City and X-COP modes - just due to the filter activation.

Alternative mounting possible

Night shooting mode turns on automatically, according to the time set by the user in the menu. When activated, it programmatically increases the brightness of the light areas in the frame. Recordings made in this mode at night becomes brighter and allows you to see fine details on a low-light track.

The lane control function (LDWS) allows the recorder to ensure that the vehicle does not leave its lane. In case of danger, the hybrid will give an alarm signal and a warning animation will appear on the display. It has been noticed that the function does not always work if the markings are badly damaged, missing, or skidded, for example, by snow.

In the new version, the X-COP 9700s has a zoom that allows you to enlarge a fragment of the recorded video - for example, to zoom in on the license plate of the car of interest. To do this, in the viewing mode, click on the corresponding icon in the lower right corner of the screen. This function is very useful, but since the zoom is digital, the quality of the zoom directly depends on the quality of the original recording.

Ease of use

In addition to the critical parameters discussed, the X-COP 9700s has a number of minor improvements that make it more comfortable to work with.

For example, a hybrid allows the owner to enter Danger Zone markers into his GPS base - the location of any road threats, be it busy intersections, speed bumps, deep pits and similar obstacles. The next time when driving in this place, the hybrid will inform in advance about the danger with a signal. At the same time, a comfortable warning radius can be set in the menu (varies from 200 to 800 meters).

X-COP 9700s can be easily attached to the windshield with extremely strong 3M tape. Thanks to this, the device can be used immediately after purchase by attaching it to the glass and connecting the cable to the cigarette lighter. Power is supplied to the recorder through the device bracket. This means you don't have to plug the cable directly into the hybrid - it allows you to quickly remove and install the device and protects the power connector from wear and tear. To organize a permanent and hidden power supply, you will have to spend a little more time, and here the cable for connecting to the Neoline Fuse Cord on-board network from the delivery set will come to the rescue. The bracket of the hybrid itself makes it easy to rotate the device 360 degrees.
