After a hugely successful start in 2013, GoSun has refined its product and is now launching one of the cheapest and most compact solar ovens in the world - GoSun Go. The principle of its operation is simple - parabolic mirrors collect sunlight and concentrate it on the central module, heating it. However, now the design of the furnace has become extremely simple and versatile.
The mirrors are made in the form of hemispheres and, when closed, become halves of the outer casing of the furnace. The inner part is made in the form of a hollow cylinder, where you can pour liquid or fill in products. The stove heats up from the very fact of the presence of sunlight and can operate in the meager rays of the winter sun, at low temperatures. Although with a natural drop in efficiency.
The main advantage of a solar oven is that it uses a passive energy source. Therefore, after experimenting with large grill models, GoSuno again returned to compact options that are convenient to take on a hike. Having the dimensions of a laptop, the new model weighs only 0.9 kg and a working volume of 400 ml. Anything that gets into it, on a sunny day, can be heated to 260 ° C in a maximum of 30 minutes.
Price tag: $ 99. Compare that to the $ 279 to $ 999 price tags for other solar ovens on the market, and all questions about why GoSun's Kickstarter campaign instantly raised 10x the asking amount would be gone. GoSun Go stoves will go on sale in April 2018.
